Carlos was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Carlos will be remembered as a very exceptional person. Fortunately, Carlos enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Carlos worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was at United States Customs and Border Protection Agency where he was employed for over 20 years. Carlos enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were fishing at Laguna Vista Beach, hunting and being outdoors. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others especially with his beloved wife and children. Carlos was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Simply stated, Carlos was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Carlos will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
Carlos is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Lorena Mendoza; son Carlos Mendoza Jr. (Carina); daughter Lizette Mendoza; son Cesar Mendoza; and son Clemente Mendoza; father Elijio B Mendoza and mother Tomasa Mendoza; brother Elijio Mendoza Jr (Isidra), brother Jose Angel Mendoza (Eva), brother Reyes Mendoza (Ana), sister Feliciana C. Mendoza, sister Concepcion Mendoza, sister Antonia Latigo (Mark) and sister Yadira Cantu (Rey) as well as numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends left to cherish his memory.
Serving as pallbearers will be Carlos Mendoza Jr., Cesar L. Mendoza, Clemente E. Mendoza, Elijio Mendoza Jr., Reyes Mendoza, Jose A. Mendoza, and Mark A. Latigo.
A visitation for Carlos will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 N. Sugar Rd, Pharr, Texas 78577 with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Service honors will occur Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM, at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. with a funeral mass occurring Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St John the Baptist, 216 W. 1st, San Juan, Texas 78589.
