Daniel Larry Meurrens

Daniel L. Meurrens passed away Jan. 4, 2021 in Edinburg Reginal Hospital, Edinburg, Texas. He was born on Feb. 2, 1940 to John B. and Dorothy J (King) Meurrens in Omaha, NE. He was raised throughout NE as his father worked for Union Pacific Railroad. When his dad started working for Northwestern Bell he finally settled in Spencer, BE. Dan graduated from Spencer High School and then from Boise State University. He married Charlene Lewis and they adopted 2 children, Sean and Shelli. They divorced. Dan married Faith J. Johnson in 1974 and they have been married more than 46 years. Dan worked for Northwestern Bell for 25 years and retired in 1994. They moved to Woodbine, IA for 5 years and then moved to Moorhead, MN, where they lived for 10 years and finally retired to Pharr, TX in 2017. They loved traveling and had visited all 50 states, 14 European countries, as well as Mexico, Canada and Jamaica. He is survived by his wife Faith, son Sean and daughter Shelli Moses and 2 grandchildren, sister Beverly Cochrane and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 from 10am to 2pm at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Vally in Pharr, Texas.

So sorry to hear about Dan. Thinking of you at this time. Remember you on the farm by Woodbine. You took a dog we had, that my son never grew attached to.

Faith, I'm sorry to read of Dan's passing. I hope you're doing ok and have lots of memories to cherish. Our Savior's has been closed most of the time during covid 19 but has just opened again but most people are still chosing to watch virtually. Wind chill today was minus 14.
