

Dianah Lynn (Jelsch) Anderson passed away March 29, 2022, at her residence at The Gardens in Pharr, Texas following a brief illness. Lynn was born August 30, 1942, to Howard and Jean Margaret (Bailey) Jelsch in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University, where she met her future husband, Gordon (Andy) Anderson. They were married in 1964 in Santa Clara, California, and Lynn accompanied Andy, an Air Force officer, to Italy, Texas (where son Tim was born), England (where daughter Tracy was born), Alabama, Arizona, and back to Texas, settling in San Antonio for Andy’s final duty assignment and subsequent retirement. After Andy’s passing, Lynn returned to college, receiving a bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake University, and some years later relocated to the Rio Grande Valley to be near her two children, and 5 grandchildren, who were all living in McAllen at the time.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, as well has her brother-in-law Steve Vanstrom, sister-in-law Wanda (Anderson) Mau and sister-in-law Lynne Jelsch. She is survived by her son Tim Anderson, and wife Velma of Dripping Springs, Texas, daughter Tracy Girault, and husband David of McAllen, brother Tim Jelsch of Plymouth, California, sister Sue Vanstrom of Albuquerque, NM, and sister-in-law Juanita (Anderson) Abbey of Homosassa Springs, Florida. Also surviving are her grandchildren Kendall Girault of Houston, Hayden Anderson of Palo Alto, California, Madison Girault of Washington DC, Meredith Anderson of San Antonio, and Tate Anderson of Dripping Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and acquaintances established over her final years residing at The Gardens.
A memorial will be held at The Gardens on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 4 pm. Friends wishing to memorialize Lynn’s life with a charitable gift may choose to contribute to Valley Nature Center in Weslaco, or to an impact organization of their choosing.
