PHARR- Elijio B. Mendoza, 81, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in McAllen. He was born on August 13, 1939 in El Campo, Texas to Jacobo and Antonia Mendoza. He is preceded in death by his son, Carlos Mendoza and daughter, Antonia Latigo. Elijio was a family man that stressed family unity. He cherished his beloved family and their well-being was always his priority in life. He was fortunate to enjoy his occupation where he dedicated over ten years and proudly retired from the City of Pharr. Elijio had many hobbies, which included him enjoying the outdoors, fishing and traveling. His passion was sharing his interest with his family and vacationing to many destinations with them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed. He will continue to shine in the hearts of his family and friends as he leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Tomasa Mendoza; children, Feliciana C. Mendoza, Concepcion Reyes (Ruben) Elijio Mendoza Jr. (Isidra), Jose Angel Mendoza (Eva), Reyes Mendoza (Ana) and Yadira Cantu (Rey); his 22 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Lorena Mendoza and son-in-law, Mark Latigo. Family will receive friends on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 3-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Funeraria Del Angel in Pharr.
