

Esperanza spent 18 years working with the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council. She spent her time as a member of the Foster Grandparent Program. She was an avid gardener and could be found outside tending to her garden. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Salazar; parents Florencio and Anita Mendoza; sister, Julia Zepeda; and brothers, Marcos and Chicho Mendoza.
She is survived by her three children, Oscar (Noelia) Salazar of Aurora, Colorado; Esmeralda (Beto+) Martinez of Wilmar, Minnesota; Alfredo (Sylvia) Salazar of Edinburg, Texas; and Ana (Rudy) Vela of Grand Prairie, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Chelo (Pepe+) Infante, brother Tivo (Dora) Mendoza along with 8 grandchildren: Sara (Ty) Melrose, Benjamin (Brooke) Salazar, Jose (Tavy) Salazar, Maribel Martinez, BJ Martinez, Alfredo Salazar III, Robert E. Salazar, Clarissa Salazar and 6 great grandchildren: Gisele, Savannah, Nina, Lily, Genevieve, and Lucas Salazar.
She leaves us rich in memories and will be dearly missed.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 3-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Palm Valley Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance in Pharr. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Palm Valley Funeral Home of Pharr.
