La Senora Gamboa, as she was dearly called, grew up in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, where she met the love of her life, Cayetano Gamboa. They had several children when they decided to migrate and settle down in Pharr, TX, where the family continued to grow. They later became migrant workers with the dream of saving and buying their first home... and they did. Though it wasn't the biggest house, nor did they have it all, but it was full of family and love and there was always room for anybody that needed a place to stay. She was a strong, brave, and respectable woman who taught her children the value of hard work and education. She led by example and never complained always encouraging her children to study and work hard.
She loved to cook, play bingo, work on her garden and watch novelas; still, she always made her family a priority and managed to keep her large family united. Though, at times she was tough and had a no non-sense approach, her children knew that the Sunday breakfast gatherings and her traditional homemade meals were her way of showing them how much she valued and loved them. It was always the family's favorite day. To her very last moment, her family and loved ones were the most important to Eva.
She will always be remembered as an extraordinary woman, a good-hearted person, but most of all, a loving mother. You will be dearly missed, Senora Gamboa. On behalf of the Gamboa family, we would like to thank Alma, Sonia and Alicia for their constant dedication and continuous care.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Gathering on Monday February 7th from 6-9 PM. at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, Pharr TX, followed by prayer and religious service at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday February 8th they will be a prayer service at 10AM followed by the burial at 11 AM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens.
