

Born in Pharr, she was a lifetime resident and a member of St. Judes Catholic Church in Pharr. Ida was a loving and caring mother that guided her four children through the path of God. Ida was a family-oriented woman who dedicated her life to her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling especially to the ocean. Family gatherings and celebrating her favorite holidays, -Thanksgiving and Christmas were days she looked forward to. Ida's pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her face would light up with their presence. Her strong faith in God led her to practice the rosary twice a day. Everyone knew that at their time of need, Grandma Ida was there to pray. Her unique personality and charming character will live forever in the memories and hearts of her family and friends. Grandma Ida's motto was, "family was always first".

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joel Salinas; the love of her life her second husband, Servando B. Sandoval, Jr.; and her father, Luis Peña.
She is survived by her loving children, Thelma Lee (Joe) Salinas Cantu, Anna Lee Salinas, Steven Servando (Amanda) Sandoval, Sarah Lee Sandoval; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her mother, Lydia Peña; and a sister, Alicia (Eli) Ruiz; numerous extended family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at St. Judes Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr at 11:00 a.m..
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
