PHARR- Irma Serna, 71, left to be with the Lord on January 24, 2018 at Comfort House in McAllen. She was born to Leonardo & Guadalupe Avila on September 23, 1946 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Artemio Serna and their children: Dora (Benjamin) Murillo, Ricardo (Maria) Serna and Luis Alberto (Andrea) Serna. She will also be greatly missed by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and siblings: Irene Madrigal, Luis Avila, Olga Avila, Fernando Avila and Dora Alicia Avila. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 12 pm to 9 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 26, 2018 at 1 pm at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Comfort House Hospice in McAllen in her memory. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palm Valley Funeral Home in Pharr.
