John Edward Gonzalez

John E. Gonzalez, 83, of McAllen, Texas, passed away on December 26 , 2024. He was born in McAllen, Texas, and was a proud graduate of McAllen High School. John went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army, where he forged lifelong values of duty, service, and commitment.

Throughout his career, John worked with dedication at several well-known companies, including Zales, Gordon’s, and Service Merchandise, where his hard work and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike.

A true sports enthusiast, John was passionate about golf, baseball, basketball, and football. Whether on the field or cheering from the sidelines, he found joy in the camaraderie and competition these sports provided.

John was a man of deep faith. A God-fearing individual, he was an avid reader, with a particular love for philosophy and religion. His thirst for knowledge and understanding shaped his worldview and inspired those around him to seek wisdom in their own lives.

A world traveler, John had an insatiable curiosity and loved meeting new people. His warm heart, friendly nature, and love of diverse cultures made him a beloved friend to many.

He leaves behind cherished memories with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. John’s legacy of kindness, curiosity, and integrity will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A service will be held at a later date under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr, Texas.
