

Jose was a proud graduate of McAllen High School (Mack High) and continued his education at Pan American University in Edinburg. He went on to build a fulfilling career as an architect, dedicating his life to his passion for drawing and design. Through his work, he achieved his lifelong dream of creating and contributing meaningfully through his craft.
A man of deep faith, Jose was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The church held a special place in his heart—it was where he worshipped as a child and later celebrated his marriage, reflecting a lifelong commitment to his faith and community.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jose Ricardo Hernandez, and Olga Villarreal.
Jose is survived by Alicia Gonzalez; his sons, Michael Anthony Hernandez and Mark Anthony Hernandez; his beloved grandchildren, Priscilla Renee Hernandez, Monica Michelle Hernandez, Michael Anthony Hernandez, Daniel Anthony Hernandez, Mark Anthony Hernandez II, Jonathan Andrew Hernandez, Nathalia Alicia Hernandez, and Andrea Carolina Hernandez; and his great-grandchildren, Isabela Hernandez, Olivia Renee Hernandez, and Julian Justin Hernandez.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Eugenia for her loving care and compassion, as well as to his caregiver, Eugenia Muñoz, for the special attention and kindness she provided.
Jose will be remembered for his dedication to his profession, his unwavering love for his family, and the enduring legacy he leaves in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Visitation will resume at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the same location. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Military Honors to be conducted by US Post 8788 of McAllen, TX.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
