Jose Salinas

Jose Zuniga Salinas, age 78, of McAllen, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Born in Corpus Christi and raised in Pharr, Jose was a resident of McAllen for over 33 years who lived with unwavering dedication to his family and a quiet passion for the things he loved.

Jose is survived by his children: Jose Salinas Jr., Crystal Salinas, Chantal Tobias, and Christopher Salinas. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren who brought immense joy to his later years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsa Salinas, and his daughter, Veronica A.

Jose was a loving, hard-working man who devoted his life to providing for his family. He was known for his selfless nature, quiet strength, and steady presence. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life like tending to his lawn, nurturing his plants, and spending hours in his garden.

An avid classic car enthusiast, Jose had a deep passion for restoring classic cars. His shop was his sanctuary, a place of peace and purpose, where he could often be found, even when no active project was at hand. Though he cherished his quiet time, he always welcomed visits from friends and family, even if just for a moment.

A memorial service for Jose will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577. A Eulogy will be shared at 11:00 AM followed by a Chapel Service at 12:00 PM and concluding with placement of ashes will follow at 1:00 PM.

Jose will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the legacy of hard work, quiet kindness, and deep love he leaves behind.
