Born on November 4, 1946, in Edinburg, Texas, to Baldomero Torres and Ester Hiracheta, Elvia lived a full and vibrant life. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and the heart of her family—a beacon of love, joy, and strength.
Elvia's life will be celebrated and remembered by her beloved husband, Juan Rangel. Together, they raised six devoted children: Meliza (Alexander) Bouzakis, Raquel (Salome) Alvarez, Elvia (Fernando) Garza-Gonzalez, Juan Carlos (Angelica) Rangel, Juan Antonio (Beatriz) Rangel, and Hector Hugo (Becky Lynn) Rangel. Her legacy continues through the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy and pride.
Elvia’s unwavering love for her family was evident in all she did. Her faith, laughter, and compassion defined her, and her presence filled every room with warmth. She was the anchor and soul of her family—a true matriarch who will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr, followed by a Catholic Service at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will take place at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr immediately afterward.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
