Maria de la Luz Uriegas

Maria de la Luz Uriegas, of Pharr, Texas, passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on January 4, 1933, Maria was cherished by her family and friends throughout her long and fulfilling life.

Maria is survived by her children, Jose Ernesto (Cecilia) Uriegas, Emilia Uriegas, Sylvia Zepeda (Enrique), and Elva Juarez (Ricardo+). She is also survived by her sister Maria Teresa Ramirez and her sister-in-law Guadalupe Garcia, as well as her brother-in-law Juan Alvarado, sister-in-law Ignacia Garcia, and brother-in-law Humberto Merida.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Jose D. Uriegas, her son Natalio Uriegas, and her grandson Enrique Zepeda III. She was also predeceased by her father, Nestor Garcia, her mother, Maria Regina Contreras, her brothers, Martin Garcia and Anastacio Garcia, and her sisters, Emilia Alvarado, Juanita Merida, and Paula Garcia.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, located at 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577, on October 27, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. A chapel service will follow at the same location at 12:00 pm. The burial will take place at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, also at 4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577, at 1:00 pm.

Maria de la Luz Uriegas will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever.
