She is missed by her three daughters — Marcela, Melissa and Berenice — who will always keep an eye on the front door of their grandparents' house, expecting her to walk in with cake.
Also grieving her is her doting husband, Calvin Scott, her brother, Erick Rocha, and their parents — Marcelina and Arturo Rocha. Martha visited them every Sunday. It's important to spend time together, she would say, because they won't always be around.
Her four grandchildren — Olivia, Joey, Sebastian and Oliver — join in the family's mourning.
In death, she reunites with her two brothers, Jorge and Arturo Rocha.
Martha lived many lives. She was born in the Mexican city of Poza Rica and found her way farther and farther north until she settled in the Rio Grande Valley with her three little girls. She cleaned houses, cleaned businesses, worked at bakeries, worked overnight shifts at Walmart, and later became a nurse.
She had fun too; she enjoyed dancing and a night out with friends. More recently, though, she just wanted to spend time with her family.
She loved movies and sharing them with her girls. She would wake them up on weekend mornings to the sound of the "French Kiss" soundtrack, Donna Summer, or Dionne Warwick. Those were her father's influences, she said.
She loved to tease. She didn't shy away from calling five times in quick succession. She never had a couch she didn't prefer to her bed.
She was beautiful. She is loved. She is gone much too soon.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, located at 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577, on November 24, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
