Mercedes C Pena

Mercedes C Pena, a beloved soul, passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 31, 1943, in Santo Domingo, Xagacia, Oaxaca, Mexico, Mercedes carried the spirit of her birthplace throughout her life.

Mercedes was devoted to her family, which was her greatest treasure. Her devotion was evident in the daily prayers she offered for them.

She is survived by her daughters, Maricela Salinas (Maximo), Leticia Vela, and Marta Robles (David); her sons, Alfredo Peña (Teresa), Evaristo Peña (Marisol), and Samuel Peña (Judith).

Her legacy also includes her grandchildren: Valerie Salinas, Nicole Ramirez, Jennifer Mena, Jessyca Balli, Amanda McEachern, Mitzi Salinas, Max D. Salinas, Daniela Peña, A.J. Peña, Christian Robles, Eli Pena, Sofia Pena, Ella Pena, Ava Pena, Sammie L. Pena, Khloe Pena, Penelope Pena, and Robin Garcia Gallegos, along with 13 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Evaristo Cruz and Rosa Cruz, her seven siblings, her grandchild, David M. Robles, and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Segura and Sophia Segura.

Mercedes was a compassionate and gentle individual who was an active and cherished member of Templo Bethel Pharr. She lived a life of deep commitment, reading the Bible and praying daily, finding peace and guidance in her relationship with God. She also possessed a nurturing spirit that extended beyond her home and into her beloved garden where she enjoyed creating beauty and cultivating life.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX, on November 12, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. A Chapel Service will follow on November 13, 2025, at 10:00 am, with burial at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX, at 11:00 am.

Mercedes's generous and faithful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire and guide her family and community.
