Noel Munoz Sr. a.k.a. “Coco” went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2026 at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family and supportive caregivers.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend,
Noel was born on September 18, 1942, in Rio Grande City, Texas, to Santiago Munoz Jr. and Victoria Garza Munoz. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Munoz Jr. and Victoria Garza Munoz; his sisters, Graciela Nielsen, Esther Garza, and Josefa Lopez; and his brothers, Santiago Munoz III and Ruben Munoz.
For 62 years, Noel shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Lydia Gonzalez Munoz. Together, they built a family rooted in love and support for one another. Their home was a place of warmth, laughter, and hospitality, where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms.
Noel is survived by his loving wife, Lydia Gonzalez Munoz, his son, Noel Munoz Jr. (Claudia) and his daughter, Cynthia Wingo (Wayne); his grandchildren: Noel Munoz III (Tammy), Andrew K. Munoz (Deannay), Derek J. Munoz (Rebecca), Sasha N. Shelton (David), and Tatyana D. Constable (Nathan); his great-grandchildren: Chryselle, Natalie, Andrew, Lucas, Joshua, Hunter Munoz, and Roland Constable; his sisters: Noelia Jennings and Elina Day, as well as many other family members who loved him deeply.
Noel was known for his larger-than-life personality, infectious sense of humor, and remarkable ability to make everyone feel at home. He never met a stranger, and his presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to those around him. His love for family was evident in everything he did, and the values he instilled will continue to guide future generations.
Though he will be deeply missed, Noel’s legacy of faith, love, kindness, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank Hector from Mt Sinai Hospice as well as Martha, Ruben, Joe, and Victor from Ace Primary Home Care Inc. for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
