

Norah was born on April 22nd, 1953.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Meza and Virginia Martinez-Meza; and her three younger brothers, Raymundo (Blanca) Meza, Ramiro (Graciela) Meza, and Rogelio Meza.
She is survived by her only son, Joseph Michael Montalvo.
Norah was an elementary school teacher for 32 years between Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) and San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) with the majority of her career spent at Kelly-Pharr Elementary in Pharr, TX. She received various awards and accolades, including Teacher of the Year and the Golden Falcon Award. She was also asked by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to help create the Writing portion of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test.
Norah was a lifelong teacher and student as she loved teaching others the wisdom she gained through experience. She loved learning about her passions, baking, gardening, and natural medicine. She studied the Bible and would often look for several sources to get a better understanding of every passage.
Norah was a devout Catholic and was a proud member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr, TX for over 30 years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00PM at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr, TX. Visitation will continue Thursday at 9:00am where we will then process to St Margaret Mary Catholic Church 122 W Hawk Ave Pharr, TX 78577 where a Mass will be held at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, Texas.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr.
