

Panfilo Serrato Mascorro, beloved father, grandfather, and great - grandfather, was born in Santa Teresa, Tamaulipas Mexico on June 17, 1940. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, wife (Maria G. Serrato), sister, and son.
Panfilo worked for the State of Tamaulipas as a Peace Officer for over 20 years. Retired from the police force in 1990 to start his own business in public transportation in Reynosa, Tamaulipas Mexico. What started as a one vehicle taxi service, turned into a fleet of taxis and buses. Panfilo then moved to the United States after marrying his beloved wife, Maria G. Serrato +RIP, and resided in the City of Hidalgo. After years in the United States, he expanded his transportation business in the City of McAllen, where it successfully grew to a fleet of taxis before selling his business so he could retire.
Panfilo was a strict father and businessman. Taught his children the value of work, valuing life, and good business ethics. The little time he could spare, he would spend with family. He enjoyed family gatherings and BBQs. A man of few words and few friends, but with a big heart. He cared for his wife, children, family, and anyone in need through his financial and emotional woes.
He is survived by his 3 children, Alma (Cesar) Castillo of Hidalgo, Reymundo (Lupita) Mendoza of Edinburg, and Erica (Ernesto) Castro of Pharr. 11 grandchildren and 1 great – grandchild.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, located at 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577, on November 10, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
