Born in Somerset, Ohio, Rose graduated as valedictorian of her class from Holy Trinity in 1955. With a passion for beauty and a gift for teaching, she pursued her education at the College of Cosmetology and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Ohio for over four decades.
Rose dedicated much of her professional life to the Nationwide Beauty Academy, where she served as lead instructor, shaping the careers of countless students. Her expertise and commitment to excellence were further recognized through her service as a state examiner for the Ohio Board of Cosmetology.
In the 1990s, Rose and her beloved husband, Richard Decot, took to the road in their RV, embracing adventure and creating cherished memories before settling permanently in Texas. Rose remained active in both her church and community, always ready to lend a helping hand or host a warm gathering. Known for her gracious hospitality and quick wit, she also earned a reputation as a formidable Euchre player.
Rose's presence brought light and laughter to all who knew her. Her memory will be carried on by her devoted husband, Richard Decot; her son George Decot; her twin sons, Kelly Decot and Kevin Decot and her brother, Patrick Funk She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as a wide circle of friends whose lives she touched deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sarah Funk; her son, Gary Decot; her sisters, Janie Drumm and Mary Lou Waugh; her granddaughter, Margo Decot; and her grandson, Benjamin Decot.
