Bill was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, NM, in 1962.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Olvera Muse, and his five children: Dustye Muse-Weiss (Alex) of Tucker, GA, Darren Muse (Maribeth) of Trinidad, CO, Deborah Muse-Legg (Chris) of Marshfield, MO, Edward Garcia of Edinburg, TX and Edrianne Garcia of Edinburg, TX.
He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Phala Louise Rhodes Muse and William Oscar Muse, his sister Barbara Murphy, and his son Dean Lawrence Muse.
Throughout his career, Bill was a dedicated and passionate professional. He served as President and COO/owner of Inland Products Inc. in Carthage, Missouri, where he led the company to success in manufacturing edible food oil for both institutional and retail use. He managed over 250 employees and operated a small trucking company. He retired in 2008.
Bill’s strong work ethic began early. At just 15 years old, he started as a grocery sacker and later worked in the grocery industry with companies including Wilsey Foods, Borden Foods Inc., Shop Rite Foods Inc., and Piggy Wiggly. These early roles provided the foundation for his later success in business, where he was known for his excellent work ethic, strong people skills, and expertise in management and sales.
In 2020, at the age of 75, he returned to the workforce and was employed by Lowes in McAllen, Texas. He truly enjoyed meeting and helping customers, and took great pride in engaging with his coworkers.
Outside of work, Bill loved going fishing almost as much as he loved working. He had a passion for woodworking, creating, and building. He was always eager to make something with his hands.
Over his remarkable 65-year career, Bill received numerous accolades and recognitions — too many to list — but each one reflected his dedication, integrity, and impact on those around him.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
