Son of Ruby Mayberry and Ernest C. Taylor.
He is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Carol McConnell Taylor and brother Charlie Taylor.
He is survived by his children Jenny Cathey, Tonia Smith, Alan C. Taylor, Jr., and Susan Taylor, wife of 10 yrs. He has a 9 grandchildren and 5 great grand kids, not to forget the many cousins and in-laws that he loves and shared special memories with. If you're smiling, you know you were one.
A man that loves fishing, loves his family and was a hard worker. He served two years in Army's Air Defense in Germany, worked for Southern Phenix Textile for 35 yrs as a loom tech, maintenance at Spring Harbor and the National Infantry Museum, Ft. Benning, Ga.
He was a man of smiles. Not a person he would'nt say "Hi, or how you been doing". He is loved and will be truly missed.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
