

Albert Douglas "Doug" Lee, 74 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Tommy Parsons, Fred Copeland, Jr. and Roger Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Honorary pall bearers will be the Phenix City Police Department.
Mr. Lee was born May 23, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas; son of the late Ernest and Viola Littlejohn Lee. He was a retired Captain from the Phenix City Police Department with 32 years of service, served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Holland Creek Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police of Phenix City, AL. He formerly served as Assistant Coroner of Russell County, AL. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Lee, Jr. and sister, Naomi Lee.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ann Lee of Phenix City, AL, brother, Paul Lee and wife Marna of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Margaret Woodard of Phenix City, AL, nephew, Gerald Simmons and wife Leslie of Phenix City, AL, great nephews, Jon Simmons and wife Samantha of Mobile, AL, Jeremy Simmons of Phenix City, AL and his companion "Precious".
