Angela graduated from Central High School in Phenix City in 1974. She attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, before transferring to Auburn University, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education.
She dedicated her life to teaching as an English and Language Arts educator. Angela retired after many years of service with both the Muscogee County School District and Phenix City Schools. She also shared her passion for education as an adjunct professor at Faulkner University and Troy University.
Angela deeply loved her family. She was a devoted wife and mother who made countless sacrifices for those she loved, especially her husband and sons. She also had a special and abiding love for her parents, siblings, and extended family.
Above all, Angela was a woman of strong faith. From childhood, she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and lived out her faith daily. She instilled in her family a love for God and a commitment to following Christ, and she shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jerry Mitchell Green; two sons, Jeremy (Karla) Green and Justen Green; two granddaughters, Mila and Nora Green; three siblings, Gerry (Lisa) Lucas, Cheryl (Steve) Barnes, and Cynthia Lucas; a special cousin, Julie Rasmussen; her best friend of over 40 years, Mary Carmen Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 7, followed by the service at 1:00 PM, all at the Rose Hill Church of Christ in Columbus.
Jeremy Green will officiate, with additional remarks by Jordan Alker, Mark Martin, and Aubrey Prestridge. Congregational singing will be led by Josh Pate.
Pallbearers will be Brian Barnes, Brent Ingram, Ryan Hearn, Aaron Brewer, Michael Riggs, and Ricky Shores.
