Arlene N. Hughey

Arlene N. Hughey, 82, of Dothan, Alabama, formerly of Columbus, Georgia, died Friday October 28, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am (EST) Tuesday November 1st in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867, with Pastor Jason Durham officiating. Interment will be in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama, immediately following the chapel service. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon (today) from 5pm until 7pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hughey was born December 2, 1928 in Traverse City, Michigan, daughter of the late Rushel Norris and Ruby Judd Norris. She was protestant by faith, a homemaker and former licensed practical nurse. Other than her parents Mrs. Hughey is preceded in death by a son, Gary Bennett and husband of 53 years, Virgil H. Hughey.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Young, sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Hughey, Jon and Cathy Hughey, Jeff and Carol Hughey, Chris Hughey, Craig and Susan Hughey, brother and sister-in-law, Orley and Carol Norris, grandchildren, Joshua and Jonathan Hughey, David Charles Hughey, Thomas, Carson and Maretta Troy Hughey, Zachary Norris Hughey, Shelby Bedgood, Brittany Johnson, Houston and Christian Hughey, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
