Betty Anne Howard

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm ET, February 18, 2026 at Smiths Station Baptist Church with visitation for family and friends from 1pm until 2pm prior to the service. Pastor David Kees will officiate. A private burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Howard was born February 9, 1938 in Banks, Alabama; daughter of the late Brantley and Jessie Jordan Owens. She was retired after 38 years of service with Sears & Roebuck Company. She later came out of retirement and worked at the Senior Center of Lee County. She was a member of Smiths Station Baptist Church.

She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as an avid gardener, artist, wonderful cook as she loved family gatherings and will leave a legacy of giving back to others and deeply caring about her family and community.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Owens and Buddy Owens.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 70 years, Ronald Williams Howard, Sr., children, Sharon Harden, Ronald Williams Howard, Jr., Kelly Howard (Belinda), Dana Cleveland (son-in-law Conrad Cleveland-deceased) and Marsha Howard. She is also survived by her sister, Janice Matthews (Mike), nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
