Blanche Langford Franklin

Blanche Langford Franklin, 93 of Phenix City, AL passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Riverdale Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Franklin was born July 13, 1917 in Harris County, GA, daughter of the late Otis P. and Cora Mae McGee Langford. She was a homemaker and a member of Girard Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. "Bill" Franklin, two brothers, C.B. Langford, James Langford and three sisters, Mary Frances Langley, Edna Newberry and Verlin Starling.

Survivors include her brothers, Pierce Langford and wife Carolyn of Bethel Park, PA, Tom Langford of Phenix City, AL, brother-in-law, Jack Starling of Columbia, SC, seven nephews, five nieces, numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special "Thank You" for the caregivers of Columbus Hospice, Lafrance Bams, Sue Sample and Chaplain Sharon Smith.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Columbus Hospice.
