Carl E. Copeland

Carl E. Copeland, 86 of Phenix City, AL, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. with Rev. Tommy Poole officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Copeland was born January 25, 1925 in Phenix City, Alabama, son of the late James A. and Maybell Harris Copeland. He was retired from Wells Dairies after 39 years of service, was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, the American Legion Post #135 and the V.F.W. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Brinkley Copeland and his son, Carl E. "Gene" Copeland, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Dale Copeland Reed and husband, Larry, son, William Scott Copeland, Sr. all of Phenix City, AL, grandchildren, Kelly Dixon Koon and husband Jonathan of Salem, AL, William Scott Copeland, Jr. and wife, Heather Holloway Copeland of Phenix City, AL., three great grandchildren, Austin, Cole, Gracyn and one expectant great grandson, Walker Ridge Copeland. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
