Charles "Gene" Eugene Stafford

Charles "Gene" Eugene Stafford, age 76, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama with Pastor David Kees officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City.

Mr. Stafford was born September 15, 1945 in Columbus, Georgia; son of the late Charles Edward and Dorothy Virginia Hedden Stafford. He was retired from the Troup County Roads and Engineering Department and was a member of Smiths Station Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Stafford (Vickie) sister, Dorothy Osborne and brother-in-law, Billy Sellers.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Gill Stafford, sons, Alex Stafford (Robin),Cal Stafford, daughter, Lisa Stafford Avalos (Paul), sister, Pat Sellers, Rita Hamrick, brothers, Donald Stafford and Richard Stafford, step-children, Gerald Wolf (Charlotte), Jimmy Scott (Kathlene), Edward Scott (Kenna), Tammy Day Cole (Jamie), Katrina Day Williamson (Chris), many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
