Cherie Lynnette Straker

Visitation for Family and Friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, Lakewood Hall, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867, on September 11, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by the Celebration of Life Funeral Service at the same location on September 11, 2026, at 11:30 am.

Interment will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.

Cherie was for many years with First Response EMS where she was an administrative assistant and dispatch supervisor. She was very passionate about her job and enjoyed it very much.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Arthur Jenkins, Sue Jenkins, Clestelle Meeks and Leonard Raiford Meeks, brother, Rodney Meeks and sister, Janice Meeks

Survivors include her mother, Angela L. Jenkins-Ridley (Stan), husband, David Shirah, children, Stephen Jerome, Brian "Tynan" Ledbetter (and his daughter, Sarai), Jonathan Cayden Straker, Michael "Cash" Freese, Gabriel Murray and step-son, Ethan Shirah (Megan and their children Gracie and Waylon). She is also survived by her sister, Amanda Holland (T.J.) and her brother, Brandon Meeks (Kelly and their daughter, McKayla Meeks), uncle James Jenkins, Sr.
