Dewilda Dixon Elliott, 71 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will ne held at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, December 9, 2021 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Alan Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mrs. Elliott was born September 1, 1950 in Midland City, Alabama; daughter of the late Eston Dixon and Pauline Dixon Barber. After the death of her father, when she was 2, her mother married Fred Barber who raised her as his own.
Mrs. Elliott worked most of her life for the Russell County School System and served on the Russell County School Board and the Russell County Planning Commission. She grew up in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, but later attended Hillside United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Opal Wanda Long and her step-dad, Fred Barber.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Arthur Fort Elliott, Jr. of Phenix City, AL; children, David Elliott (Kristi) of Prosper, TX
Benjamin Elliott (Kimberly) of Salem, AL. Amy Elliott Enfinger (Ladon) of Smiths, AL; grandchildren, Brandon, Grayson, Maddox, Olivia, Emma, Izzy, Brady, Libby, Troy, Abby, Avery, Kelsee, Kasidee and Karlee as well as many loving family members and friends.
