

Dianne Cannon, 77 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Saturday August 26, 2017 in Columbus, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30pm EDT Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Dianne was born 24th of March 1940 in Phenix City, AL; daughter of the late Elmer S. Rumsey and Mildred Cook Rumsey. She retired from civil service where she worked on Ft. Benning, GA for 25 years as an Accounting Technician in the Finance and Accounting Office and later as a medical clerk in the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Center at Martin Army Hospital. After retirement, Dianne was a volunteer at Double Churches Elementary School as a Teacher's Assistant. Dianne loved the Alabama Crimson Tide "Roll Tide" and the Atlanta Braves.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald "Yogi" Rumsey.
Survivors include her loving husband, Charles Rittenhouse of Phenix City, AL, two daughters, Gina Hart of Columbus, GA, Connie Logan (Randy) of Jacksonville, FL, grandsons, Mitchell R. Hart of Midland, GA, Travis, Maxwell, Jack and granddaughter Camille of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Judy Jordan, Kathy Jordan, Betty Knox; brothers, Charles Rumsey, Albert Rumsey, Kenneth Rumsey, Elmer Rumsey, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
