Dorothy Floyd Tyner

Dorothy Floyd Tyner, 81 of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday, September 5, 2016 in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. A private burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:oo A.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Tyner was born March 9, 1935 in Opp, Alabama; daughter of the late Clarence Phillip and Ruby Bass Floyd. She was retired from the Sunshine Biscuit Company and was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert David Grimes, sisters, Gladys Pridgen, Jewel McCarty, brothers, James Earl Floyd and Franklin Steve Floyd.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight L. Tyner, Sr., sons, Denny Grimes, Danny Grimes, Phillip Grimes, Lonnie Grimes, Dwight Tyner, Jr., Randall Tyner, Ross Tyner, Richard Tyner, Tim Tyner; daughters, Diane Harrell, Sandra Elliott, Sheryl Atkins, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
