CW3 (Ret) Douglas Glen Tucker, 86 of Seale, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, May 30, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 10:00 A.M. EDT Monday June 4, 2018 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Pastor Brady Baird officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Tucker was born May 24, 1932 in Greig, New York; son of the late Glenn and Elizabeth Beyea Tucker. He was a member of Seale United Methodist Church, lifetime member of the V.F.W. and was a volunteer for the Red Cross. He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts; a decorated serviceman with many medals to include the Combat Infantryman Badge National Defense Service Medal, w/1 OLC, Army Aviator Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, w/1 Silver Star &3 Bronze Stars, Air Medal (17th OLC), Bronze Star Medal w/V Device and Army Commendation Medal.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Sue Tucker of Seale, AL, daughters, Pam Ward (Bennie) of Seale, AL, Wendie Head of Phenix City, AL, Gail McCants (Steve) of Seale, AL, brother, Wayne Tucker (Anne) of Port St. Lucie, FL, sister, Marilyn Graves of Watertown, NY; grandchildren, Douglas Sherman (Marie), Jeremie Redden (Lauren), Heather Tharpe (Brian), Avery Sherman (Ashley), Russell Sherman(Merri), Jennifer Medley (Chris) and Michael McCants; 14 great grandchildren, Caroline, Sydney, Wyatt, Shae, Leah, Courtney, Cora, Tucker W., Hannah, Meagan, Tucker, Dustin, Dylan, Drew (Taylor) and great great grandson, Dawson.
