Edith Grace Abercrombie

Edith Grace Abercrombie, 79 of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. EST in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. with Rev. David Howle officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Serving as pall bearers are Wayne Abercrombie, James Abercrombie, Jr., Michael Carden, David Carden, James Abercrombie, III, Ronald Lewis, Donald Lewis, Phillip Parrish and Daniel Lewis.

Mrs. Abercrombie was born September 22, 1932 in Columbus, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Ceburn Harris and Ella Jackson Padgett. She was a homemaker and baptist by faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Abercrombie.

Survivors include her children, Michael Wayne Abercrombie of Phenix City, AL, Delores Darlene Abercrombie of Rome, GA, Rosalie Jane Carden and husband, Steve Jenkins of Columbus, GA, James Marvin Abercrombie, Jr and wife Keri of Phenix City, AL, Donna Lewis of Columbus, GA, Jan Parrish and husband Heath of Phenix City, AL, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
