Elizabeth Nell Page Fountain, 89, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, March 18, 2020. She was born January 13th, 1931 to Mary Elizabeth Carden Page and Walter Dewey Page in Hatchechubbee, Alabama. She was a long time resident of Salem (Bleecker), Alabama and member of Concord Baptist Church. She was the last generation on both sides of her family, Fountain and Page. She was a substitute teacher and later full time teacher of Special Education at Wacoochee Junior High School. She loved to sew, bake and decorate cakes, and make all kinds of crafts. She also loved sports, was a big Alabama football fan, Roll Tide Roll! Fan of the Atlanta Braves and season ticket holder of the Columbus Redstixx back in the day. She loved life, loved people, and loved having fun. She made new friends everywhere she went. Being surrounded by family and friends was one of her favorite things. She was known to most as "Mama Nell" or "Aunt Nell". She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert H. Fountain, her son, Terry Fountain, her older brother, Walter Dewey Page, Junior and two older sisters, Mary Annie Miller, Nora Pauline Napier and infant great granddaughter, Codie Nicole Fountain. She is survived by her daughter, Penny Fountain (Johnny). Frances Parrish Allen and Margie (Punkin) Parrish Allen, "Her Girls". Janice Fountain, daughter-in-law. Grandchildren: Kevin Fountain (Andrea), Pamela Grant, Patti Robinson (Scott), Melissa Morgan (Delbert), Keith Fountain (Beth) and Hannah Revells. 14 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. Numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Due to Coronavirus, for the safety of everyone, a private burial was held March 23rd, 2020. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be arranged and announced at a later date so all family and friends may attend.

Penny I am so sorry! I loved Aunt Nell and I love you! I spent many summers at your house (most of them in the Edgewood home) standing at the refrigerator begging for pickles. I'll never see a pickle without thinking about Aunt Nell. Praying for you sweetie!

My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. I remember "Mama Nell" fondly. She is definitely remembered in many of my childhood memories of Bleeker, Alabama. May she rest in peace. Praying for you all.
