Enoch Jerry McLendon

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Oswichee Baptist Church, located at 1049 Hwy 165, Fort Mitchell, Alabama, 36856, on January 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will take place at the same location, starting at 3:00 pm.

Burial will occur at Oswichee Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Alabama, 36856.

Jerry was the son of the late Enoch and Adel Day McLendon. He was employed for 25 plus years with Bill Heard in Columbus and later he opened Sundown Motors until he retired. He served in the US Navy and was a member of Oswichee Baptist Church in Fort Mitchell, AL.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Boon McLendon and his sister, Mary Kate McLendon Jenkins.

Survivors include his sister, Betty McLendon DeMent (Don), nephews, Jason DeMent (Christine), Todd Jenkins, great niece, Savannah DeMent, cousins, Judge William "Bill" Smith, Crawford Smith and many, many friends.
