Francis Nelson Bowman, Jr., 58 of Omaha, Georgia died Friday, January 17, 2014 in Russell County, Alabama. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm EST Thursday, January 23, 2014 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby, 3770 Hwy 431 N./280 W., Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mr. Bowman was born March 6, 1955 in New York. He is the son of the late Francis Nelson Bowman, Sr. and Irene Bowman. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army and was a truck driver. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher James Bowman.
Survivors include his sons, Francis Bowman, III, Robert Bowman, Kevin Bowman, daughters, Lisa Stephens, Ruby Bowman, Shannon Smith-Bowman, Trisha Bowman, sisters, Irene Conrad, Shirley Brewer, Helen Merring, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
