Franklin "Frank" Lee Hart, 92 of Seale, Alabama passed away Wednesday June 29, 2022 at the Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. EDT, Sunday, July 3, 2022 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Jenkins, Jimmy Townsend, Roger Mitchell, Mike Charles, Jody Marchand and Ronnie Hart.
Mr. Hart was born May 7, 1930 in Americus, Georgia; son of the late Doc and Estelle Holt Hart. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was Baptist by faith.
He was a member of the Senior Softball League of Columbus and played softball until he was 85 years old. He was inducted in to the Georgia Softball Hall of Fame. He was an avid Braves fan and loved watching them play. He also enjoyed fishing and farming. He owned a couple of convenient stores and a laundromat that he enjoyed managing and visiting with his customers.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Susie Stillwell, Marshall Hart, Winona Lawson and John Hart.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ruby Smith Hart, two daughters, Kay Mitchell (Roger) and Jan Pollard all of Seale, AL; granddaughters, Melissa Charles (Mike) of Seale, AL, Chasity Burton (Kelly) of Clarksville, TN, Tiffany Siegler (George) of Daleville, AL, Candice Marchand (Jody) of Ozark, AL and many great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren that he loved dearly.
