Gary O. Davis, 73, of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama, died Thursday April 25, 2013 in Columbus, Georgia. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00pm EST Sunday April 28th at Oswichee Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL. with the Reverend Ralph Henderson officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. The family will receive

friends on Saturday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm EST at the funeral home. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Davis was born August 18, 1939 in Phenix City, son of the late Coley B. Davis, Sr. and Emily R. Gilliland Davis. He retired from Tom’s Foods in Columbus and later with Georgia Crown Distributors/Jacks Amusement Co. He taught hunter safety for the state of Alabama and was a former member of the Russell County Emergency Management Service. Mr. Davis was a member of the Oswichee Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Davis of Ft. Mitchell, sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Andrea Davis of Ft. Mitchell, Mark and Kelli Davis of Smiths Station, brothers, Donald Davis of Auburn, AL., Coley B. Davis, Jr. of Smiths Station, sister, Dorothy McGahee of Birmingham, AL., 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
