A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, Lakewood Hall, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867, on April 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Private Interment will take place at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Hwy 165, Fort Mitchell, Alabama 36856, on April 6, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Mrs. Adkison was born in Phenix City, Alabama; daughter of the late Walter Kent, Sr. and Aurrie Brown Kent. She attended First Assembly of God Church and the Village Church in Phenix City and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard, was an avid shopper, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Adkison, grandchild, Amanda Kidd and a sister and several brothers.
Survivors include her son, Kendal McLendon (Tonya), daughters, Belinda Kidd, Wanda Hobbs (Jimmie) and her step-daughter, Susan Mitchell (Steve). She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Billy Kidd, Jr. (Katie), Judy Walker (Jarrod), Lynda McClain (Brandon), Allen Thompson, great grandchildren, Hannah Haines (Will), Hunter McClain, James Kidd, Juliett Kidd, Genevieve Kidd and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
