
Mrs. Grace Owen Cook, 93 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Phenix City Health Care surrounded by her family. A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday September 4, 2015 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Charles Keown officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Cook was born August 15, 1922 in Honoraville, Alabama; daughter of the late Jesse Ogden Owen and Mary Elizabeth Jackson Owen. She has lived in the community since 1966, was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Her passions were cooking, gardening and taking care of her family and her home, all of which she did with grace and love. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Braxton Cook and her grandson, Christopher Hightower.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Cook Hightower-Larry and Ann C. Fletcher and husband, Joe all of Phenix City, AL,; grandchildren, Brian Hightower-Tamara, Danielle Ward-Goyette, D'Anna L. Thomas, Nichole T. Gordy and husband, Robert; great grandchildren, Jenna L. Hightower, Gregory W. Ward, Sydnee G. Kelley, Aivery L. Kelley, Thomas J. Kelley, Logan Gordy, Trevor Richards and Ryan Richards.
