Harvey Lamar Saturday

A visitation for family and friends for Harvey will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A celebration of life funeral service will occur Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867 with Pastor Max Samples officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.

Mr. Saturday was born November 8, 1941 in Columbus, Georgia; son of the late Harvey Franklin Saturday and Hazel Jane Yon McConnell. He was retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and was known as the "Saturday Handyman" by his friends and family.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dianne Saturday, daughter, Terry J. Saturday, sisters, Gene Weeks, Helen Turner and his brothers, Ray Hancock, Donald Hancock and Maynard Hancock.

Survivors include his former wife and mother of his children, Helen L. Saturday, his former wife and current girlfriend, Rhonda Aglipay; daughters, Melissa Saturday Watson and husband, James, Cheryl Saturday Mehaffey and husband, Lester, seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
