Hershal Green, of Phenix City, Alabama was born on March 23, 1948, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 77. A visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Lakewood Hall, located at 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama, on November 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same venue at 3:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama.
Hershal was a life long resident of the area, he graduated from Lyman Ward Military Academy and from LaGrange College with a bachelor’s degree. Hershal married Annell Flowers on September 3, 1983, at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. Hershal was the owner and operator of Green’s Propane. He had a strong unwavering faith of his Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Phenix City. He believed in being involved in his community; he volunteered with Smiths Station Dixie Youth Baseball, he was the president of Smiths Sation Babe Ruth League, Smith Station Quarterback Club, Smiths Station Football Hall of Fame, Alabama LP Gas Association, he was a former member of Lakewood Baptist Church and Builders for Christ. Hershal loved his family, work, and traveling. He had a passion to serve his customers and his community. He loved this country and enjoyed being able to travel throughout it including Alaska, Hawaii and being able to visit Canada. Everything was always better when it was done with his family, the golf cart rides with his grandchildren, the crab boils, grilling out or spending time by the pool. Family was extremely important to him.
Hershal is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Willie Mae Green; and a stepson, Bubba Copeland.
Survivors include: his wife, Annell Green; son, Mike (Mardelle) Green, their children, Andrew, Anthony, Megan; great grandchild, Riley Mae; son, Bill (Brandy) Green, their children, Boyd, Bree; daughter, Ginger (Dennis) Parrish, their children, Eric, Nicholas, Kyndall; great grandchildren, Jackson, Carley, Raylyn, Zayden, Za’riya, Brooklyn; Stepdaughter, Terri (Noel) Register, grandchildren, Julie, Madison, Carter; great grandchildren, Fisher, Cameron, and Khloe.
