Hurley David Simpson

SFC (Ret) Hurley David Simpson, 83 of Seale, AL died Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Okeechobee, Florida. Funeral services with military honors will be held 11:00 A.M. EST Friday May 16, 2014 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Simpson was born July 22, 1930 in Willard, Kansas. He is the son of the late Cary Franklin Simpsn and Margeret Mix Simpson. He served his country in the U.S. Army with 22 years of service to include the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, was a life member of the V.F.W. and was methodist by faith.

Survivors include his three sons, Craig Alan Simpson, David Kent Simpson (Roxy), Mark Duane Simpson (Delores) all of Seale, AL, two daughters, Gayle Lynn Estes (Johnny) Okee, FL, Cheryl Filisko (Robert) Brownstown, MI, step-children, Norman Haines of Seale, AL, Angela Lloyd (Curtis) , Kay Haines all of Phenix City, AL, brother, Thomas Russell Simpson (Norma), three sisters, Wilma Fay Kelly (Ron), Rova Lee Evatt, Mary Sue Mazzarella (Gerry) all of California, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren four step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
