

Jack Randall Hobbs, 71, of Phenix City, Alabama, died Saturday May 28, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm ( EST) Wednesday June 1st in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, AL. 36867, with the Reverend Don McCormick officiating. Private interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Hobbs was born June 13, 1939, in Butler, Georgia, son of the late James Hobbs and Clara Hurt Hobbs. He married Mary Elizabeth Gray of Phenix City, they were married for 39 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Jack was a true businessman who was devoted to his many ventures including Suggs Machine in Butler, GA. and Diverse Mechanical in Columbus. He enjoyed working on his many fams and raising cattle. He was a member of the Courts of Praise Worship Center in Phenix City.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife , Mary Elizabeth Hobbs, his children, Debra Massey, Crystal Foster, Vince Adams, Kelly Thomason, Donna Youngblood and Karen Wolff, siblings include Margie Boyt, Sonny Hobbs, Herman Hobbs, Joy Corley and Theresa Waddell, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Courts of Praise Worship Center, 150 Lee Rd. 456, Phenix City, AL. 36867 or to Columbus Hospice , 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA. 31909.
