Mrs. McKemie, daughter of the late Jessie Parnell and Betty Jean Davis Parnell, was born August 12, 1955 in Samson, Alabama. She was employed in her younger years at Wipo Textiles, and then went to work for Columbus Carpet Mill for several years before starting a new career with the Muscogee County Sheriffs Office, where she faithfully worked for over 10 years before retiring. Mrs. McKemie was a member of The Fort Church; loved her family, especially spending time with her granddaughter; loved playing Bingo; and was an avid Alabama football fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Roswell McKemie and one sister, Charlene Weber.
Mrs. McKemie is survived by one son, Mike McKemie and his wife Tiffany of Smiths Station, Alabama; one granddaughter, Riley Jean McKemie of Smiths Station, Alabama; one brother, Harmon Parnell and his wife Elizabeth Austin of Phenix City, Alabama; two nieces, Brittney Parnell and Taylor Parnell; one nephew, Nic Parnell; many other relatives and friends.
