Jan Oldenburg, age 79, resident of Smiths, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Memorial services are scheduled at Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday, January 19, 2019, 6 p.m. with Reverend Brad McDaniel officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 5-6 p.m.
Mrs. Oldenburg, daughter of the late Richard Hearn and Gladys Allred Hearn, was born June 17, 1939 in Lee County, Alabama. She was member of Golden Acres Baptist Church and was a representative of Tupperware products for over 40 years. Mrs. Oldenburg was a loving and caring lady, and always very straight forward. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was very competitive with games, even with her family, enjoyed spending evenings with her favorite T.V. shows, and made very good desserts for her and the family.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Hearn and Pat Hearn Yokeley; three brothers, Edwin Franklin Hearn, Charles Hearn, and Billy A. Hearn; two half sisters; and two half brothers.
Mrs. Oldenburg is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ron Oldenburg; two daughters, Angie Suggs and her husband Robert of Phenix City, Alabama and Gina Oldenburg of Smiths, Alabama; two sons, Kerry Oldenburg and his wife Roxanne of Phenix City, Alabama and Craig Oldenburg and his wife Candy, also of Phenix City, Alabama; one brother, Lamar Hearn of Phenix City, Alabama; six grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Kevin, Caitlyn, Catherine, and Angel; five great-grandchildren, Chase, Jayden, Aubrie, Braylee, and Lily; numerous nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
