Janet was born April 5, 1953 in Charlestown, Indiana; however, she grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She is the daughter of the late Charles Richard O’Dell and Pansy Powell O’Dell. As an adult, she moved to Tampa, Florida where she held a variety of roles in the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s office including operating dispatch and process serving. Though she loved her work, her favorite role was being a mother to her daughter, Nicole. You could always find her doing a crafting project in her garage craft studio. Janet enjoyed framing, cross-stitching, and beating the rest of her family in Scrabble. Janet was also extremely active in her church and wanted everyone to know that they could experience the saving grace of Jesus if they would turn from their sin and place their faith in Him for salvation.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one of her older brothers, Michael O’Dell.
Survivors include her other brother, Jay O’Dell and her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, Nicole, Ethan, and Marcus Graves.
