Jessie Nell Jones
August 16, 1934 – March 7, 2023

Jessie Nell Johnson Jones, 88 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on March 7, 2023. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST, Friday, March 10, 2023 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Harsey, Cliff Harsey, Travis Stewart, James Harsey, Frankie Gilbert and Christopher Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Brooks, Adam Brooks and Nathan Harsey.
Mrs. Jones was born August 16, 1934 in Geneva County, Alabama; daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Johnson and Susan Jeanette Peacock Johnson. She was retired from the Columbus Carpet Mill and the Phenix Division after 30 years. She was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church, member of the Leadership Circle Lt. Governor of Alabama and the Chattahoochee Valley Southern Gospel Music Association.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Henry Jones, sisters, Barbara Ann Locey, Jeanette Stubblefield, Dorothy Solios and her brother, Theodore “Ted” Johnson, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Ann Grimes (Denny) of Phenix City, AL, grandchildren, Danny Harsey (Erin) of Sharpsburg, GA, Susan Phillips (Derek) of Milledgeville, GA, Cliff Harsey (Crissy) of Cadiz, KY and Travis Stewart of Los Angeles, CA; great grandchildren Taylor McQueen (John), James Harsey, Kiley Johnson, Adam Brooks (Karisma), Ethan Brooks, Rachel Brooks, Ryan Phillips, Nathan Harsey (Shelby), Brooklyn Robinson, Kaitlyn Robinson, Aiden Robinson and ten great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and loving friends.
