Jo Ann Garner

Jo Ann Mihalko Garner, 74 of Phenix City, AL died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at United Baptist Church in Phenix City with Rev.. R.G. Blackwell and Rev. Ralph Wooten officiating. A private burial will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Garner was born December 19, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia; daughter of the late Donald and Clara Owens Mihalko. She was a member of United Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Garner of Phenix City, AL, children, Stacy Day (Jimmy) of Columbus, GA, Shelley Culpepper (Phillip) of Bowden, GA and Ronald Garner of Moundville, AL; grandchildren, Jason Day, Crystal Smitherson, Johnathan Culpepper, Jimmy Culpepper, Kylie Brown, Tyler Brown, Smith Garner, two great grandchildren and her sister Bev Mork (Dale) of Wisconsin.

Jo Ann was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
